Truth is, when you look at his positions on guns, foreign policy, criminal justice, pretty much everything, Bernie Sanders is not a socialist. Never was. And real socialists — and this is no shout out to socialists since I think they’re a wacky crowd — they just can’t stand the guy. In Politico Magazine, Fredrik deBoer queried whether Sanders is a Socialist In Name Only?

It really seems like just a moniker he uses to make himself feel like the “King of the Cool Kids” to those who don’t really know what the real implications of true socialism are, or have been, and don’t have the intellectual curiosity or bandwidth to find out.

And he’s not a member of the Democratic party. He only showed there when it served his political ambitions, then — nearly from day one — has done little more than bitch and whine and disrupt. And he’s gained a following among people who confuse his absolutist histrionics with a policy platform.

For decades he’s been the white male senator from a tiny — almost exclusively white rural state — calling himself a socialist cause nobody really cared, but that won’t fly across the country. Bernie Sanders is clueless — and evidently utterly disinterested in…
