No one is going to sabotage her now, at least not with any effect. Democrats know how critical this is.

My bet on her VP is Andy Beshear or Roy Cooper, if they will take the job. A white guy with a southern drawl might give some southern white guys permission to be persuadable. And before anyone starts the canned rant about how terrible it is we can't just be purists and choose whomever she wants.

This is politics: she wants whoever can help the ticket the most and whoever can ease the discomfort among southerners who are antsy about the 'biracial women married to the Jew'. And don't think for a New York moment that that is not a major part of the calculation.

And don't think for another moment that Harris is internalizing all this: she has been at this for over three decades. She's not that easy to marginalize and I tell you, black women--and many white women--would go into open revolt if any Dem pol disses VP Harris.
