Well, I have to agree with Obama: the pendulum leans towards justice. And this is why we do need someone who can take the crap and just keep moving forward. Back when Biden and Harris shook hands after the first debate I wrote that folks need to still their intransigence as that may be the ticket. That — or something much like it — seems even more likely now. And that’s fine. These people will pull together a group effort of smart, thoughtful people to clean up the mess while putting all manner of matters on a long term progressive thread.

But the immediate concern has to be triaging the border and restoring our relations around the world, so the timeline has to be flexible: think a decade to recalibrate healthcare, climate, etc.

Privately, I guess I think this American horror show had to purge itself cause we simply couldn’t move forward by ignoring the existence of this darkness at the core of the national narrative, our collective soul.
