When A Man On Social Media Called Me “Stupid as F**k”
For commenting that the estates of the billionaires in the submersible should pay the cost of the rescue efforts.
So, I posted a comment — one among many comments —regarding the submersible implosion on the thread of William, a longtime Facebook ‘friend’ whom I have had a few occasions to connect with privately, saying that “…it was some rich white guy bullshit. Their estates should pay the crazy bill for the rescue efforts and make sure they pay their f**king taxes.” Certainly not the harshest thing anyone had to say about this mess.
William responded: “That’s not only crude but stupid as f**k.”
Now, ordinarily, I would have just blocked anyone — especially a man who speaks to me that way — but I’ve known this guy for a while so I thought to take the opportunity to actually have this conversation with someone who so aggressively, and inappropriately, disagreed with me online. I was just curious as to whether it is ever worth it to even try on social media. So I got back to him.
