you have a point, but i think all of us who watched “friends” already knew it was a fantasy. i don’t think most people took it that seriously and if they were so young that they did take it seriously at the time, they are certainly over it.

it was funny sometimes. but it was just a tv show. the cast is my age and i guarantee you, no one running the streets of nyc were getting laid as much as the friends were unless they were trolling bars all the time.

valid points but at most, the show didn’t “trigger” anything as much as it reflected some not year clear emerging fault lines.
